Got in a quick, but decent RT today to cover the one I missed yesterday. Felt a little weak. I can’t wait to get through another couple of weeks on TNT, so I can have a carb reload day. I feel like my body needs it, but I’m sticking with the plan for now. Maybe I’ll go back to fitday next week to see if I can get it dialed in a little more. I bought some new protein powder today. Only 1.5g carbs per serving vs my current powder with 5g per serving.

So I got 1 RT and 1 CT (awesome treadmill session) in today. I’m too damn tired to make it in tonight, so I’ll make up this RT tomorrow, which is supposed to be a rest day. Take care, just wanted to hold myself accountable for this!

Interviewed with Stryker this morning for a position in their Interventional Spine Division. It seems like a very good opportunity. I was extremely nervous walking in this morning. I always used to get amped before a football game or wrestling match until that first hit was made or that first throw executed. Luckily, there was another candidate waiting in the lobby when I got there about 0730. He gave me an opportunity to get my interview face firmly affixed before we actually began. The interview was kind of like “speed dating.” Myself and 3 other candidates all were scheduled for 0800 this morning, (I had to postpone my AM workout because of this), and we each spent 20 minutes a piece with 3 people from Stryker (Regional Manager, Territory Rep, and HR). They had a total of 15 people scheduled today, so I know it will be tough, but I think I did a good job with it. The Territory Rep, actually told me, “You kicked the shit out of the first guy I spoke with.” As I was his number 2 for the morning, I replied, “Great only 13 others to beat!” He gave a good chuckle, so I hope he took it as me being up for the challenge. All three people gave some “buying signals,” and I tried to capitalize on my strengths and downplay any weaknesses as anyone interviewing for a job should do.
Oh and I’ll be making my AM RT up shortly if you were wondering!

Well I knocked out 2 RT’s today, not unusal. But I also knocked out 2 CT’s today. I just felt like doing cardio today. I did I long steady state treadmill session for the AM session, and a short powerful HIIT on the elliptical for the PM. I felt like I pushed myself very hard on the CT’s today. The RT’s I don’t know. I think they were effective, my focus just wasn’t 100% It was like I was zoned out. I was very tired, and my appetite hasn’t been there the past couple of days. I need to make sure to nail the multi-vitamin tomorrow. I’ve got a pretty big job interview tomorrow, so I hope that goes well. Better, “Hit the Hay”
Thanks for stopping in.

Well I had a great cardio session tonight. I warmed up on the elliptical and then got out of my comfort zone and headed for the treadmill. I walked at a steady, challenging pace (3.5-4mph) for about a half an hour, then finished with about 2.5 minutes at 6.5mph. Those last few minutes were tough. I wanted to pack it in, but hopefully next time I’ll be able to go for 3-4 minutes. It’s a process, and I’ve got to get back to running. Knees be damned.

Got in a stellar 20 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical! Felt really good. I would rate my leg workout at about a 6/10. Much room for improvement there. Tomorrow is a scheduled off day for RT’s but I will most likely get some good cardio in. Maybe a long session of steady-state to change things up a bit. We’ll see in the morning. Hope everyone had a great St. Patty’s day!

Well I woke up this morning feeling awful! Some stomach cramps, and generally just not enough sleep (quality or quantity). My little girl had started with a cough last night before I left for the gym, and was asleep by the time I got back. This morning she was coughing constantly. I decided to go ahead and take her to the Dr. this morning, and sure enough, positive for walking pneumonia. She had it about a month ago too! So no daycare today, and no workout for me! I’m not too worried about it though, I’ll hit it hard tonight and I factored in a couple misses in the goals for instances such as these. Headache is better today, but my mood is still a little off. Guess I’m still going through some withdrawal symptoms.
Well hope everyone’s St. Patty’s day is going better than ours! Maybe she’ll take a nap soon and we can both get a little rest!

Well today has been a chore. I’ve had a headache most of the day and have generally been in a foul mood. I’m off for workout number 2 of the day. I did lift very heavy this morning, so that is definitely a positive. See you guys tomorrow, when things are hopefully going a little better!

ey everyone. Took a scheduled day off yesterday, and enjoyed it thoroughly all clean eats and still moving forward. Almost slept too late this morning, but made it to the early service at church so all turned out well (that’s also something we’ve recently committed to as a family). Came home and got caught up on some chores, and I made it in for an unplanned CT! Turned up the difficulty level to 5 on the elliptical for my HIIT workout. I had been at level 1, so it was a notable difference. Clean eats today so far, and not a lot left on the agenda, maybe some 24.

So… today has been busy!
I got up this morning for a very intense RT, which was nice.
Then it was back home in time to take the wife and daughter to work/daycare. Then I had to get some new tires for the car and get the oil changed. From there I made it back home and did some admin work in the office that lasted FAR longer than I anticipated. So I was in a rush to make the exam.
Got there in what I thought would be plenty of time. However, there was NO parking. Apparently they were having a graduation ceremony for the Sheriff’s Dept. and it was rediculous. Dejected @ 12:59 (test check-in at 1:00) I’m coming to terms with the fact that I’m going to have to reschedule. When the clouds part, and I almost hit a car that’s backing out of a sole space! Now they lock the doors at 1:15, and I’m about 3 blocks from the building. My cardio work saved my life. I parked ran the 3 blocks, got caught at 2 lights, and strolled in a little winded, but no worse for the wear at 1:07. I calmed down, and feel like I did really well. Time will tell.
After that I hit the grocery store. I bought VEGGIES. I’m talking: Bak Choy (spelling?), Asparagus, Brocolli, Mushrooms, and Peppers. Thanks TNT MAN for lighting a fire on that one! Now for step two: Find a lower carb alternative for my new protein supplement.
Now it’s off to the gym for round two, before I go to sleep! Thanks for all the well wishes today, and the support this week. Really helps me stay motivated!
